Connor Harris's concert at Hill Country, scheduled for May 29, will now take place on August 7. Sherman, Texas, was created in 1846 by an act of the Texas legislature to serve the newly created Grayson County. Sherman is a city under Texas state law and is governed by the local government. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1962 and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and music from East Texas State College in 1966 and his master's degree in business administration in 1967. After graduating, he was selected to play in the U.S. Army Band, performing with Marvin Stamm at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Sherman is named after the city's first mayor, William Sherman, a former Texas governor. There is a red brick house perched on a grassy hill and a small church on the outskirts of town, Sherman House.
